Geotab software enables the drawing or importing of important areas where vehicles congregate such as offices, customers or distribution centers. This food bank user has 3 group types: Donors of Food, Recipient Organizations and their own Distribution Locations. Zones can be easily imported using the Import Zones feature that takes names and addresses from a spreadsheet and draws them on a map. Summary views of Driving Time vs. Customer Time vs. Office Time or your other zones is now simple to manage. It is common for fleets to have over 50% driving time daily before managing time with the objective to reduce driving time and maximize productive customer, office or distribution center time. Geotab features EVENT management with zones as well. Once zones are drawn, Geotab customers can program rules for activity inside zones or zone groups. In this example, a school zone has been created and a rule for no engine idling, when broken, will alert a Green Program Manager. In this example, the sales and logistics managers want to be sure that vehicles that are assigned work, are efficiently deployed in the morning and not parked at the distribution center as part of an overall objective of having less than 2% spare vehicles. ZONES for Activity or Event Management is another way that Geotab is helping customers manage by measurement.
