GPS Tracking Canada presents: Fleet Complete Tutorial: How to Create a Point of Interest (POI) Also known as a Geofence or Geozone. Setting up your POIs one of the most important things that you can do when you first setup Fleet Complete for GPS Tracking. The POI is a virtual perimeter defined around a geographic location. When the POI is established, you have a virtual "punch clock" of when the vehicle entered the POI, how long it was there and what time it left the POI. It will only take a minute or two to setup a POI. Once the POI is setup, it will always remain in the tracking system until you delete it. You can create an many POIs as you wish. You can even create POIs within POIs. This tutorial illustrates the importance of creating the POI zone. If you only use an address as the means of establishing vehicle location history, then the "official street address" may only be designated on the map as a small section of the zone that you want to monitor. Ie. if the POI is a large yard or plaza and the vehicle enters and exits from a far corner of a yard, away from the "official street address", then you may not know that the vehicle actually arrived at the address. If you draw a POI zone around the entire yard, then the vehicle can enter and exit the POI from any direction and you'd still know that the vehicle arrived and left the POI.
